Vatican Hosts Conference on Possibility of Alien Life

The Associated Press reports: that last week the Vatican concluded a five day conference involving church officials and scientists from several countries on the subject of future discoveries of alien worlds and alien life, especially intelligent life, and the implications thereof, both scientific and religious.
That the conservative Catholic Church would participate in, much less host such a conference must seem surprising to many, but the Church has come a long way sincethe inquisition of Galileo nearly 400 years ago.  At that time the church fiercely opposed the heliocentric view of the solar system, which Galileo championed, and on which he published several works advancing the theory, partly based on his voluminous observations through a telescope he had fashioned.  After more than twenty years of acrimonious relations with the Church, from 1610 to 1633, Galileo was tried and found "vehemently suspect of heresy," and placed under house arrest, where he remained until his death in 1642.
Today the Church no longer opposes scientific discoveries and theories, and has even found evolution to be compatible with its teachings, unlike many Christian fundamentalists, who emphatically deny it.  In fact, polls show that as many as half the American people still reject Darwin's theory of evolution in favor of the creation legends in Genesis I and 2 of the Bible.  Perhaps in time these ultra-conservative groups may adopt a more flexible view that allows them to consider scientific findings as one of the most important ways the nature of their god is revealed to them.  One can hope, anyway.
No doubt the Church is partially motivated by the sheer weight of scientific evidence and discoveries during the last few decades, and many more which are sure to come as powerful new investigatory tools are developed.  Giant telescopes around the world are under construction for mountaintop observing, while others have been launched into  earth or heliocentric orbits, including the Kepler telescope, which is searching for earth-like planets orbiting within the habitable zone around their home stars.  The first results from this mission, albeit very preliminary, will be announced in January, 2010.  The telescope was launched on March 6, 2009.
Meanwhile the SETI Institute (SETI stands for the "Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence") continues its work in the field of astrobiology, with the hopes of one day identifying signals from intelligent aliens.  Such a communication could potentially revolutionize our view of the cosmos, and our religions.  While the possibility of such a breakthrough is regarded as remote by most, we should prepare ourselves for the ramifications, and I believe the Catholic Church is doing just that.  Someday, either through a lucky break with SETI, or the relentless advances in space exploration, we are going to find out that we are not alone, probably within a century.  At the very least we are likely to discover worlds like ours are ubiquitous in the Milky Way galaxy, and that life thrives on many of them.  That these worlds exist will be proven within the next three years through the Kepler mission.
In that regard, conference participant, astronomer and director of the Vatican Observatory in Rome, Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, said, "Just as there is a multitude of creatures on Earth, there could be other beings, even intelligent ones, created by God. This does not contradict our faith, because we cannot put limits on God's creative freedom."
I would hope that more conservative religious groups will welcome these discoveries and adopt an expanded, enlightened worldview in time.

Vatican Hosts Conference on Possibility of Alien Life

After years of lagging behind in the acceptance of scientific fact, the Vatican has not only caught up, but, with a conference this week, moved far past the boundaries of modern science. Yes, 376 years after they condemned Galileo for discussing a heliocentric solar system, and a mere 16 years after pardoning him for it, the Vatican will host a conference on astrobiology and the existence of extraterrestrial life.
The conference is sponsored by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, and will host 30 scientist from fields such as astronomy, biology, physics, chemistry and geology.
The Vatican's interest in extraterrestrial life began last year, when Father Jose Gabriel Funes, the chief papal astronomer and a Jesuit priest, announced that the existence of alien life does not contradict the Bible. This revelation opened up a wide range of theological implications, including the possibility of aliens who don't need salvation, since their ancestors didn't commit original sin in the Garden of Eden.

UFO Sightings | In Canada Soar 2013 | TV NEWS

More Canadians say they are seeing unidentified flying objects than ever before, with 2012 numbers nearly doubling the record number of sightings recorded in previous years.

In 2012, there were 1,981 sightings, nearly doubling the previous annual record of 1,004 sightings recorded in 2008. There were record numbers of UFOs reported in every province last year except for Saskatchewan and P.E.I.

Chris Rutkowski, a civilian science writer who has produced the Canadian UFO survey since 1989, has just finished compiling all of 2012 reports.

"It's something across the board," said Rutkowski. "People in Canada were actually looking up into the sky more than in previous years."

The objects people witness come in a variety of forms — from triangles and balls of fire, to the more traditionally ovoid-shaped flying saucers, hovering in the sky.

Adam Canning, 10, of Lake Charlotte, N.S., is one of the many hundreds of Canadians who are reporting UFOs.

He said the UFO he witnessed with a friend earlier this year looked like an orb.

"I could see it in the distance for about a minute and then like boom, it went really fast," said Adam, standing on a hill near his house, pointing at the sky.

"I heard this, beep, beep, beep. I knew something was in the sky. I looked up and there was a big thing. Big, round, like a big hotel or something. I looked at my buddy and I'm like, 'That has to be a UFO.' There's normally helicopters flying over our house but that was way bigger than a helicopter, so I knew it wasn't a helicopter," he said.

US Military Has Worked With Aliens | Confirmed | 2013

Hard to believe but Charles Hall, a Nuclear Physicist, and ex-military American weather specialist during an interview on Yahoo!7 TV Channel, made an amazing claim that he had worked with alien beings in a US military base in 1960!

He claims that the United States military has been in contact with alien species for years. They were principally involved in technology transfers with the US military, and tall whites would dress like humans.

Mariana Flynn, the president of UFO Research Centre NSW, believed Mr Hall had indeed encountered aliens. ''The topic is a red rag to a bull to some people, particularly those in authority,'' she said.

Here's the video. Take it for what its worth! But the moot question is: What if aliens are real? Would it change the face of humanity forever if the governments disclose that aliens are real and that they've been interacting with them for years? Will religion be a thing of the past? Will the stock markets crash? Will there be worldwide panic? Will there be free energy with advanced alien technology that will change the energy paradigms forever? Would the oil cartels allow this to happen? Is this why the governments are keeping alien contact a secret? You be the judge...

Extraterrestrial Disclosure | Canadian Minister of Defense Speaks

On September 25, 2005, Hon Paul Hellyer, the former Canadian Minister for National Defense gave a speech in Toronto at an event titled: "Exopolitics Toronto: A Symposium on UFO Disclosure and Planetary Direction" (www.exopoliticstoronto.com) . Hellyer described his time as Minister for Defense from 1963-1967 where the occasional UFO sighting report crossed his desk. He claims to never have had time for what he considered to be a "flight of fancy", but nevertheless retained an interest in the UFO phenomenon. While Minister for Defense, he was guest of honor at the opening of the world's first UFO landing pad at Alberta, Canada in 1967. He thought it an innovative idea from a progressive Canadian community willing to pay for his helicopter ride, but did not give much thought to UFOs as having serious policy implications. He also describes a private UFO sighting he later had with family and guests, but once again attributed it to a 'flight of fancy' rather than anything having serious policy implications.
Hellyer's position on UFOs dramatically changed after watching the late Peter Jennings documentary special, "Seeing is Believing" in February 2005. Hellyer decided to read a book that had been idly sitting on his book shelf for two years. Philip Corso's, The Day After Roswell, sparked intense interest for Hellyer in terms of its policy implications. Corso named real people, institutions and events in his book that could be checked. Intrigued by the policy implications, Hellyer decided to confirm whether Corso's book was real or a "work of fiction". He contacted a retired United States Air Force General and spoke to him directly to verify Corso's claims. The unnamed General simply said: "every word is true and more". Hellyer then proceeded to discuss the "and more …" with the general and claimed he was told remarkable things concerning UFOs and the extraterrestrial hypothesis that interplanetary visitors have been here since at least 1947. Finally convinced that the UFO phenomenon was real Hellyer decided to come forward and speak at Exopolitics Toronto about some of the "most profoundly important policy questions that must be addressed."

The policy questions Hellyer addressed in his talk are both profound and vitally important for citizens of every nation of Earth.
First, Hellyer claimed that evidence concerning UFOs is the "greatest and most successful cover up in the history of the world". He confirmed that senior political officials even at the rank of Minister of Defense, a position he himself occupied, are simply out of the loop when it comes to information concerning UFOs and visiting extraterrestrials. From a democratic perspective, that raises many concerns about oversight, transparency and accountability of those in control of the information, technology and projects concerning the extraterrestrial visitors.
A second profound policy question concerns the designation by the U.S. military of visiting extraterrestrials as an 'enemy'. According to Hellyer, this had led to the development of "laser and particle guns to the point that they can be used against the visitors from space." It is this targeting of visiting extraterrestrials that concerns Hellyer, and he asks "is it wise to spend so much time and money to build weapon systems to rid the skies of alien visitors?" Hellyer poignantly raises the key policy question: "Are they really enemies or merely legitimate explorers from afar?" Hellyer's question raises profound importance in understanding the relationship between visiting extraterrestrial civilizations and world peace.
The third policy question arose from the recent decision by President Bush to build a base on the moon. Hellyer believes this is the activation of a plan first launched by Col Corso's mentor, Lt General Arthur Trudeau to build a base from which visiting extraterrestrials could be monitored and possibly targeted as they approach the Earth. Hellyer outlined his opposition to the weaponization of space, something that the liberal government of Canada is currently opposed to. The weaponization of space remains a key policy issue clearly has profound policy issues from the perspective of extraterrestrial visitors to Earth.
Finally, Hellyer declared that the "time has come to lift the veil of secrecy" and to have an "informed debate about a problem that doesn't officially exist." Understanding the evidence concerning the UFO phenomenon is vital to fully preparing citizens around the world for the truth concerning extraterrestrials, despite official denial and secrecy by those "in the loop". He calls for major global initiatives to fully prepare global citizenry for the truth. He endorses a position taken by key exopolitical researchers such as Alfred Webre to prepare for a "Decade of Contact" where humanity is prepared for the truth about extraterrestrial visitors through informed debate and education.
Paul Hellyer is the first senior politician to openly come out and declare the truth about the extraterrestrial presence. He is blazing a trail that many other senior politicians are destined to take. It will be wise if the world's senior politicians quickly learn more about this remarkable Canadian statesman and heed his important advise about data on extraterrestrial visitors and the "profoundly important policy questions that must be addressed."

[ Purple Alien Eggs ] Found In Arizona Desert | Mysterious Spheres

What are these mysterious, translucent purple spheres that were recently found by the thousands in the Arizona desert? Anyone want to take a stab at what they are? I’ve posted a few of the comments from the story below. From KGUN9 in Arizona:

It was a normal Sunday in Vail for Geradine Vargas. Normal, until she and her husband stumbled upon something kind of weird.

Thousands of tiny, purple-hued spheres piled in the middle of no where.

They were watery, some where translucent, and the pile was completely isolated. Gerardine was amazed, and she wanted answers.

We spoke to Darlene Buhrow, director of marketing at Tucson Botanical Gardens, who’s husband is a botanist. He said if these are something naturally occurring, they could be a slime mold or jelly fungus.

UFO Close Encounters | Anderson Cooper

Anderson Cooper has an open mind on a lot of subjects and in the video segment attached below he discusses the alleged UFO coverup conspiracy with MUFON Director John Ventre on Monday’s show.

Turns out, Cooper thinks the government is lousy at keeping secrets.
But it does point out that mainstream media personalities are much more willing to discuss this topic and that more people are beginning to take unidentified flying objects more seriously.
The focus of the segment was whether the US government is engaged in a conspiracy to keep the truth about so-called alien visitation a secret. It included witnesses who claim to have been contacted by extraterrestrials and discussed the increase of UFO sightings around the world in the last year.
No matter what one may think personally about these issues, it’s clear that many people are willing to open up about their personal experiences and the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) is making a record of those willing to share.
